What the days mark

Makar Sankranti marks the Sun moving into Capricorn (Makara) and the start of its northward journey. It is observed across India under different names, including Pongal in Tamil Nadu, where the festival runs four days from Bhogi to Kaanum Pongal, and Lohri in Punjab, marked with a bonfire the evening before.

A devotional face for the day

Kaal by KIDA Studios is a free iPhone app with a gallery of devotional Apple Watch faces, including Lord Ganesha, Lord Krishna, Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman, Ram Lalla, Om and temples such as the Golden Temple, Ram Mandir Ayodhya and Kedarnath. You preview a face on your iPhone and tap Add to Watch. It needs iOS 16 or later and a paired Apple Watch. Kaal does not show panchang, tithi or muhurat times, so use a panchang for those. For Makar Sankranti, an Om face is a simple way to carry the day on your wrist.
