How to Email Many People Without Showing Everyone's Address

To email many people without them seeing each other's addresses, put your own address in To and everyone else in Bcc. Recipients see only you. In Gmail, click Bcc at the right of the To line. In Outlook, turn on Bcc from the Options tab. On iPhone Mail, tap the Cc/Bcc line.

BCC vs individual emails

BCC hides addresses, but everyone gets one identical message, and a reply-all mistake can still expose the list if someone forwards it carelessly. Individual sends give each person their own email, which looks personal and keeps replies one to one. Gmail's mail merge does this on eligible Workspace plans (Google Help). On iPhone, Envora by KIDA Studios sends individual emails through your own Gmail, in throttled batches from a CSV list. It's free to download and comes with a 7-day free trial; after that, a one-time $39.99 Lifetime Unlock keeps it working (US App Store price).

Frequently asked questions

What is BCC?

Blind carbon copy. People in BCC get the email, but no one else can see their addresses.

Is BCC good for newsletters?

It works for small, occasional sends. For regular sends, individual emails with an unsubscribe link are better practice.

Do BCC recipients count toward Gmail's limit?

Yes, every recipient counts.
