Captain Star for Windows — On Steam, Built for the Mouse
The Steam edition of the endless UFO shooter, on Windows 10 with achievements, Family Sharing and the overlay. Your ship follows the pointer and fires where it points.

What Captain Star does on Windows
The Windows version specifically — what it is built around and what it does differently from the other versions.
On Windows, Captain Star is a Steam game, and it is the mouse-driven original. A single pointer moves and aims your UFO: the ship follows the cursor and fires where it points, so the usual twin-stick split becomes one continuous motion. Alongside the Mac version, this is the edition that plays the way the game was designed.
Steam adds what Steam adds: achievements, the overlay, Family Sharing and your library. It has been on Steam since 4 June 2025 as a single-player title with an English interface, audio and subtitles.
The system requirements are modest. A Windows 10 64-bit machine from the last several years with a basic dedicated GPU will run it; it needs about 200 MB of space.
On Windows you get
- Mouse-driven control. Move and aim with one pointer, as the game was built.
- Steam achievements and overlay. Progress tracked in your Steam profile.
- Family Sharing. Share the game across accounts on the same Steam Family.
- Endless escalation. Reach each wave’s star to unlock the next stage and a new enemy formation.
- Light on hardware. Windows 10, 4 GB RAM, a GTX 750-class GPU and 200 MB of storage.
