Oura Ring + Apple Health: See Your Oura Heart Rate Against Your Calendar

70 BPM does not measure heart rate; it reads what Oura has already written into Apple Health and lines it up with your calendar. So the useful question for Oura owners is not “is it compatible” but “what exactly does Oura send, and how much of the day does it cover?” Everything below comes from Oura’s own support documentation, linked where quoted.

What Oura writes to Apple Health

The heart-rate line on Oura’s official page reads, verbatim: “Heart Rate (in one-minute intervals)” (Oura Help Center: Apple Health Integration (updated 19 August 2026)).

The full export list on that page:

The question that decides everything: does it cover the whole day?

Full-day heart rate: yes. One-minute intervals is dense enough to fill a half-hour meeting with real readings. In 70 BPM you get a continuous day trace with your calendar events sitting on top of it.

How to connect Oura to Apple Health

From the Oura app:

  1. Tap the menu in the upper-left corner of the Oura app’s home screen.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Under Data sharing, tap Apple Health.
  4. Enable Connect to Health.

Once connected, open 70 BPM, grant it Apple Health read access for heart rate, and the samples Oura has written appear on the day chart against your calendar events. 70 BPM shows every heart-rate sample in Apple Health, whichever device wrote it — it never filters by brand.

If Oura data is not showing up

Charts look slightly different from the Oura app

Oura’s page notes Apple may apply rounding or use different time intervals when displaying data, so the trace in Apple Health (and therefore in 70 BPM) can differ a little from the Oura app’s own graph.

Steps will not move the Stand ring

Noted on Oura’s page as an Apple limitation. Unrelated to heart rate, but a common source of confusion.

How to check what you are actually getting

Open Apple Health › Browse › Heart › Heart Rate and switch to the day view. Readings scattered across an ordinary day mean all-day samples are arriving; readings clustered only into workout blocks mean you are getting session data only. Under the same screen, Data Sources & Access shows which app is writing. This check reflects your actual device, firmware and settings, and beats any compatibility page — including this one.

For how Oura compares with other watches and rings, see Which smartwatches work with Apple Health.

This article reflects Oura’s published documentation as read in September 2026. Sync behaviour changes; check the linked support page before relying on it. 70 BPM is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything.
