Xiaomi Watch and Mi Band + Apple Health: The Official Steps, and the One Thing Xiaomi Does Not Say

70 BPM does not measure heart rate; it reads what Mi Fitness has already written into Apple Health and lines it up with your calendar. So the useful question for Xiaomi owners is not “is it compatible” but “what exactly does Mi Fitness send, and how much of the day does it cover?” Everything below comes from Xiaomi’s own support documentation, linked where quoted.

What Mi Fitness writes to Apple Health

The heart-rate line on Xiaomi’s official page reads, verbatim: “open the Mi Fitness APP >> [Profile] >> [Third-party data] >> turn on [Health] >> select the data items you want to sync” (Xiaomi Support FAQ KA-243012: Mi Fitness and Apple Health on iOS). See also Xiaomi Support FAQ KA-592800 (Smart Band 10).

The question that decides everything: does it cover the whole day?

Full-day heart rate: not documented by the maker. Xiaomi’s support pages document the toggle and the steps in detail, and Xiaomi says it analyses “the written data” — so something is written. What no Xiaomi page states is which data types, so we cannot tell you heart rate is included. The two-minute check below is the only reliable answer.

How to connect Mi Fitness to Apple Health

Xiaomi’s documented steps (Mi Fitness is the app for Xiaomi Watch, Redmi Watch, Mi Band and Redmi Band):

  1. Open Mi Fitness and go to Profile.
  2. Tap Third-party data.
  3. Turn on Health and select the data items you want to sync.
  4. Then open the Health app › Browse › the small circle in the upper right › AppsMi Fitness, and select the same items there.
  5. Sync the band or watch, then wait a while for data to appear in Apple Health.

Older Mi Bands (roughly Band 7 and earlier) used the Zepp Life app instead, which only states that it “supports using Apple HealthKit” with no data types listed. This page is about Mi Fitness.

Once connected, open 70 BPM, grant it Apple Health read access for heart rate, and the samples Mi Fitness has written appear on the day chart against your calendar events. 70 BPM shows every heart-rate sample in Apple Health, whichever device wrote it — it never filters by brand.

If Xiaomi data is not showing up

Data not appearing

Xiaomi’s FAQ KA-230360 lists the fixes: enable Mi Fitness’s permissions in iOS Settings, turn off Low Power Mode, update both the app and iOS, and if needed revoke and re-authorise Apple Health.

Two places to enable, not one

Xiaomi’s Band 9 and Band 10 FAQs add a second step inside the Health app itself. If you only flipped the switch in Mi Fitness, check Health › Apps › Mi Fitness too.

How to check what you are actually getting

Open Apple Health › Browse › Heart › Heart Rate and switch to the day view. Readings scattered across an ordinary day mean all-day samples are arriving; readings clustered only into workout blocks mean you are getting session data only. Under the same screen, Data Sources & Access shows which app is writing. This check reflects your actual device, firmware and settings, and beats any compatibility page — including this one.

FAQ

Does Xiaomi Mi Fitness sync with Apple Health?

Yes. Xiaomi’s support FAQs document a Health toggle under Profile, then Third-party data, and a matching step inside the Apple Health app under Apps, then Mi Fitness.

Does Xiaomi sync heart rate to Apple Health?

Xiaomi does not say. Its FAQs tell you to select the data items to sync but never list them. Enable it, then check Apple Health’s Heart Rate day view to see whether readings arrive.

Which Xiaomi devices use Mi Fitness?

Xiaomi lists the Xiaomi Watch series, Redmi Watch series, Xiaomi Smart Band series and Redmi Smart Band series. Older Mi Bands used Zepp Life instead.

Can 70 BPM show my Xiaomi heart rate against my calendar?

If heart-rate samples reach Apple Health, yes; 70 BPM reads every sample there regardless of source. Whether Mi Fitness writes them is not documented by Xiaomi, so check Apple Health first.
